The first step to world domination

I suppose it's expected that the offspring of two relatively geeky people will follow in the footsteps of the parents.

My child is a computer user. Correction: my child is an opportunistic computer user. He waits until one of us vacates our seat and then takes over.

Yesterday afternoon, I got up for one of my many bathroom breaks. When I came back to my desk, Enzo had opened a browser window and was perusing the backpacks offered on Amazon.com. I walked up behind him and he turned to me and said excitedly,"Look mommy, backpacks!"

I thought this was an isolated incident, that he just happened to open that page. But after what followed, I now know that the kid has a plan. He's apparently planning some type of trip.

Later in the afternoon, we were having a family cleanup time. He then invaded Julian's computer. He opened Google Maps and started looking at various destinations. The kid knows more about the computer than some adults I know.

We concluded that he's either going to South America or Europe. I've turned off my password storage and one-click checkout at Amazon. Just in case, you know.
