Been to the hospital again
I'm so tired of going to the hospital. I've been having bad headaches lately. And severe headache is on my list of "call the doctor" symptoms since it's apparently a sign of preeclampsia. So on Wednesday I had a bad headache. I took a nap to try to sleep it off as this sometimes works. That didn't help, so when I woke up I called the doctor's office. I thought they would probably tell me to come in and have my blood pressure taken, since that was what happened the previous time when my headaches got to me. But no, I was told not to pass go, not to collect $200, but to go directly to labour and delivery.
So off I went...with my entourage in tow. I got to the triage room, peed in the cup, got all hooked up to the fetal monitors, and settled in for a while. My blood pressure was taken twice while I was there (about an hour) and it was abnormally low for me. But normal. I don't remember what it was the first reading, but the second time around, I wrote it down: 103/59. I'm usually around 120/80 or so.
My doctor came by while I was there and basically stuck his head in the door and told me that he was going to give me a shot of Demerol and send me home. When I told him that I drove myself there, he changed his mind and gave me two Mepergan Fortis and told me to drive straight home. I got home, tried to eat a little dinner, threw up in my plate (yuck!) and shortly thereafter fell asleep. I slept from around 6 pm on Wednesday until 5:30/6:00 Thursday morning. And still felt tired on Thursday. This is really getting to me. I am so ready for Baby 2 to get here.
