Anniversaries
I don't know what it is about this time of year, but the next two weeks feel like birthday/anniversary central in my family. And of course at the moment I have no extra money to buy gifts for anyone. Ick.
Last Friday (22 July) was my mom's birthday. Tomorrow is the wedding anniversary for both Julian and me as well as my sister and her husband. I didn't realise until after I got married that I did it on the same day as my sister. Weird, huh? My sister's birthday is 9 August. My 5-year anniversary at work is 14 August. Julian's birthday is 16 August.
Tomorrow is my 6th anniversary and for my sister I think it's her 23rd. I can't believe that we're coming up on 6 years of marriage. There's a part of me that can't believe it's been 6 years already. Where has the time gone? I guess it's true what they say about time flying when you're having fun.
And my anniversary at work...well, this is the first "big" anniversary for me. It's when I'm 100% vested. And I also get to choose an anniversary gift. I think I'm getting a garnet ring. Garnet's my birthstone, and there's not much else in the catalogue that I want or need.
And then for Julian, this year he's officially old. He'll be 30. I wish I could do more for him on his birthday. Maybe if he's working by then...
