This stolen purse thing sucks

Today, I went to my mom's house for assistance with replacing my purse items. She gave me some cash, since um, well...I couldn't pay for anything. No cash, no checks, no credit cards, no id. I got a little purse from my sister while I was there and one of my mom's old wallets. Rolling in style now! I would take a picture to show you, but I can't. I realised later that my camera is/was in my bag. Damn.

So I have a bag (at least temporarily) and I have a wallet with a little money. I got my replacement driver's license today. It wasn't too bad. Only cost $10. I got my replacement cell phone today as well. It's a different model than the one I had. I now have a Motorola V262. I paid $50 for it through my insurance. I feel okay with that, since the current price for that phone with a 2 year contract is $60.

I went to the bank where the branch manager is a guy Julian used to work with. Told him what happened, and he's blocked the debit cards, but we'll have to go back tomorrow or Wednesday to open new accounts. Fun!

My mom asked me today why all these bad things keep happening to me. My answer for her: "If I knew, I would stop it."

I'm not even 30 yet and I have now had my checks stolen twice (a total of 3 checking accounts, since they got both checkbooks today), I've had my social security number compromised twice (so far nothing to report from today's event, but the previous time someone opened a credit account at Target and ran up quite a bill in my name), have had fraud alerts with all major credit bureaus twice, need I go on?

And that's on top of all my own financial woes. It seems like just when we start to get back on our feet around here, someone comes up behind us and pulls out the rug.

I've been violated

I am so sick right now. I came home way early from work today because I just couldn't concentrate and I had so many things to take care of.

My purse was stolen from my car in front of our daycare centre this morning. It was about 6:45. I guess I forgot to lock the doors. I took Enzo inside, was gone less than 5 minutes, came back and no bag. My lunch bag and other work bag were still sitting where I had left them.

I've already called the police and filed a report.

I've called the bank and reported it to them as well. I have to go in to a branch and close both our accounts and open new ones.

I had the service on my cell phone suspended and called my insurance company to file a claim for replacement.

Now comes the fun...going around everywhere to get all this stuff done. I have to go to the revenue office for a new license, the bank to take care of the accounts, the Social Security office to get replacement cards, and then finally the store to get a new purse and wallet.

And the doctor wants me to avoid stress...ha!
