Some thoughts

I got all the carpets cleaned. The difference in the carpet in the living/dining area is like night and day. I really should clean the carpet more often. I think the last time it was cleaned was a little over a year ago, as I was getting ready for Enzo's 2nd birthday party. I got the hallway done as well, and spot cleaned in the bedrooms. At least for a little while, I won't be ashamed to have someone in the house. Just in time for bringing the baby home and expecting some visitors. Yay!

In other news, the package of clothes from Julian's parents came today. I'll take some photos later to share. There's nothing like hand-knit baby clothes.

We also got the money from my 401(k) today. I'll be able to pay the remainder of the August bills, get started on September's bills, and get my brakes fixed. My wage garnishment is almost done. I only have the rest of August and September and then one paycheck in October and that will be over. I have a little breathing room.

I've done a little shopping over the last 2 days, picking up some needed things for the house. I got a small area rug to put between the futon and TV, which is the area where Enzo likes to sit. We told him it was his special rug. Hopefully that will keep some of the mess off the freshly-cleaned carpet. I also got a small 3 drawer cart to store some baby items, bassinet sheets, a waterproof mattress cover, a memory card for the new camera, and some other odds and ends.

I think I'm ready for baby Sebastián and it's a good thing, since we're looking at the big day happening either 2 or 3 weeks from tomorrow.
